An Everest Base Camp plan is only credible when it accounts for acclimatization, variable Lukla operations, permit checks and the possibility that a fixed international flight should not sit immediately after the trek.

Permits and local rules

Permit type, issue point, fee and guide rules can change. Ask the operator to name each current permit in the written inclusions and carry the required identification and permit copies during the trek.

Lukla flight planning

Airport, departure point and timing can vary by season and operations. Protect buffer days after the planned return. Ask how changed flights, extra transport or accommodation are handled financially.

Acclimatization is part of the route

A fast schedule is not automatically a better one. Rest and acclimatization days support safer decision-making. Do not ascend with unresolved altitude symptoms, and understand the guide's emergency communication and descent plan.

Decision checklist

  • Current permits are named in the quote.
  • Lukla departure assumptions are written.
  • Post-trek buffer days are protected.
  • Insurance covers the route altitude and evacuation.

Turn your shortlist into a written quote

Compare the daily itinerary and accommodation basis before comparing totals. Ask for a cost breakdown covering transport, rooms, meals, permits, guiding and optional extras, with exclusions shown separately.

  • Tell us your preferred month, group size, walking experience and room preference.
  • Ask which seasonal conditions could change the route, journey time or accommodation choice.
  • Confirm supplier holds and their expiry before accepting. A published departure date is not a reserved room or seat.
  • Read the deposit, balance deadline and cancellation terms before paying. Allow time for supplier and permit checks; the team will confirm the booking timeline for your route.
