The classic three-destination circuit can be compact or relaxed. The number of hotel nights alone does not show whether the plan has enough usable sightseeing time after transfers.
Five days: a highlights route
A five-day plan is best for travelers who accept long transfer blocks and a curated set of highlights. Confirm whether arrival and departure times leave enough usable time for Kathmandu, Pokhara and a Chitwan activity.
Seven days: better balance
Two extra days can support a fuller Kathmandu heritage visit, a less rushed Pokhara morning and a more complete Chitwan schedule. This is often the practical middle ground for first-time visitors.
Eight days: flexibility and rest
An additional night can absorb road variability, provide more leisure time or allow a special interest such as food, photography or a short nature walk. Build the route around flight times and traveler mobility.
